Biography

Major Matthew Leander King came to Iowa State College from his hometown Indianapolis, Indiana. He graduated in 1906 in B.M.E. He was also the husband of Mrs. M. L. King.

Matthew was a major in aviation and died at Ft. Sheridan, Illinois on October 1, 1919.

Mrs. M.L. Kin wrote a letter to Iowa State College President's Office, received July 14, 1924:

"When M.L. King first went to school here, his home address was Bagley, Iowa. When he graduated, his home was in Ames. Perhaps M.L. King '06 Ames, Iowa, Major Aviation will be best."
