Hotel MU has winter weather rates

Nov 21, 2012

This winter is predicted to be another mild one, but hey, it’s Iowa, you never know. If a winter storm hits Iowa State University don’t risk driving home, stay at the Hotel Memorial Union which is located on campus.

The Hotel MU is now offering its winter weather rate for university students, staff and faculty members. During extreme winter weather, the hotel offers rooms at $40 ($30 for ISU students) per night for our standard room and $50 ($40 for ISU students) per night for our suites.

“Winter weather can be unpredictable. We don’t want people to drive home when road conditions are dangerous. As a benefit to the campus community, we offer our rooms at a substantially reduced rate to encourage them to stay off the roads during hazardous conditions,” said Laura Helmus, Hotel MU manager.

The winter weather rate at the Hotel MU is available Sunday-Thursday from now through March 2013. Reservations will be accepted no more than 24 hours in advance of a forecasted storm, and the reservation must guaranteed by providing a department account number- if the department is paying- or with a credit card. Reservations must be cancelled by 5 p.m. of the arrival date to avoid charges.

If a winter storm is predicted for the area, you can request a hotel room online or call the hotel desk at 1-800-433-3449.
