Online Event Authorization Training Sessions
For the past two years, the Event Authorization Committee has been working to move the paper process of Event Authorization online and is excited to announce the online system has launched! With the authorization process online, student organizations will have more flexibility when submitting events.
In order for your student organization to take advantage of the new system, members of your student organization who wish to turn in an Event Authorization form will first need to go through training from the Event Management Office. We strongly encourage the President and Treasurer, as well as anyone else who will be handling your organization's events to complete the training, for they have a key role in event approvals. Advisers are recommended, but not required, to complete training as well.
There are two options for completing online event authorization training.
Blackboard
We have now added the event authorization training module to Blackboard. If this is the option you chose, you will be given the Event Authorization PowerPoint and required to complete a brief 10 question quiz about the contents of the PowerPoint. Upon receiving 100% on the quiz, you will be added into the event authorization system and able to create and approve events as needed. To request to be added to the Blackboard group, please enter your name and Net ID below. In 1-3 business days, the Online Event Authorization Training will appear under the "Organizations" section in Blackboard Learn.
Training Sessions
Training sessions are held in the Memorial Union and last 20-30 minutes. During these meetings, we'll run through a PowerPoint that teaches you step-by-step how to create and approve events in our online system. Following the PowerPoint there will be time for questions. Once the training sessions are over, the names of those who attended are added into the online event authorization system allowing you the opportunity to create and approve events as needed. You can sign up for a training session below. Because training sessions will be added as needed, contact the Event Management Office if you'd like to schedule a meeting.
Because of the low activity of summer months, here will be no training sessions available between May and August 2012. Contact the Event Management Office at 515-294-1437 with any questions or concerns.
