FAQs

We are located in the lowest level of the Memorial Union on the Iowa State Campus.

Yes and no. The MU policy is that persons under the age of 18 not enrolled at ISU must be accompanied by an adult.

You can munch on pizza, and a variety of vending machine snacks in the Underground.

Students can feel free to bring in food to watch TV with or to snack on.

There is no time limit to play; you can play for as long as your body will let you, and only as long as we are open of course!

Yes, you can reserve bowling alleys or pool tables for your group or party.

Yes! You are more than welcome to bring in your own bowling shoes and balls, as well as your own pool cues.

Currently we do not offer our own classes, however ISU Recreation Services uses our space for intramural bowling and the ISU Kinesiology Department offers bowling classes each semester.

Yes! Inquire at the bowling desk about our frequent players cards.

There is ample space in the Underground to throw your stuff near you while you play.

No! Come as you are.

No, you do not need an ISU card to play. An ISU card will give you student rates.

Is the Underground open during dead week & finals week?

Yes, we are open during dead week and finals week, come take a break from your studies with us!

Yes! When classes are not in session the Underground is open noon to 10pm daily.

Currently the Underground is not affected by the construction, you can come and play.

If you have more than 5 in your group, we recommend a reservation. Please call us.
