Aviation Cadet Arnold Ernest Sindlinger was born to George and Edyth Sindlinger on August 8, 1919. He grew up in Fort Dodge, Iowa.

While he was at Iowa State College, Arnold was a member of Delta Sigma Phi fraternity. He entered the service August 20, 1941 at Hemet, California.

His last service assignment was at Luke Field near Phoenix, Arizona. He died there when his training plane crashed on a routine flight Monday, February 16, 1942. He was 22 years old. His body was returned to Fort Dodge for burial.
