Biography

Second Lieutenant Emeric Andrew Nelson was the sone of Mr. A. G. Peterson and grew up in Farley, Iowa. He studed Architectural Engineering while at Iowa State College.

Instead of graduating with the Class of 1918, he enlisted into the infantry May 15, 1917 at Fort Snelling, Minnesota. He recieved his commission as second lieutenant and was assigned to Company F, 164th Regiment and sailed for France on August 26, 1917. He served thirteen months as an instructor in Second Corps School.

Emeric died of pneumonia at Chatillon-Sur-Seine, France on October 27, 1918.
