Biography

Captain Carl R. Alfred was born in Barney, Iowa to Albia Alfred and Rozetta Dagget on January 31, 1917. For a time, he lived in Altwater, Ohio.

Carl studied Dairy Industry at Iowa State College with the Class of 1940. He left school to enter the Army Air Forces at Burlington, Iowa in October 1940. Just before going overseas, he married Emma G. Price of Garfield, New Jersey. 

Carl was killed in action over Czechoslovakia on April 16, 1945. His awards include the Air Medal, the Distinguished Flying Cross and the Purple Heart.
