Biography

Captain Robert Cameron Russell was born to his parents, France W.H. and Ada C. Russell. He grew up in Cleveland Heights, Ohio with a sister named Jeanenne and a brother named Larry.

His parents had graduated from Iowa State in 1917 and 1916, respectively. Robert went to Iowa State as a member of the Reserve Officers' Training Corps and became a first lieutenant upon his graduation in April 1943.

He had just arrived in France on June 16, 1944 and served with the Intelligence Headquarters Corp of the Engineers. He was promoted to Captain that May.

Robert died just 10 miles west of Paris, France on August 24, 1944.
