Biography

John Daniel Swineyvwas the son of Mrs. Marie Swiney. He came to Iowa State College from his hometown Davenport, Iowa. He graduated with a degree in Agronomy in 1917.

John was called into service withe Batallion D, Iowa National Guard, to Camp Cody, New Mexico. He transferred to Officer Traning School at Fort Snelling, Minnesota. He was comissioned as a captain of Field Artillery and stationed at Camp Dodge, Iowa prior to going overseas. 

John died of pneumonia following influenza on October 8, 1918 in Clermont-Ferrand, France.
