Biography

Frank was born to W. Leland Zink and Cynthia Mary McKibben on October 17, 1926 in Stuttgart, Arkansas. He grew up in Plano, Illinois.

Frank was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon at Evanston, Illinois, while at Northwestern University. While at Iowa State he majored in Aeronautical Engineering.

Private Frank McKibben Zink died in a plane crash near Denver, Colorado, on September 8, 1945. He had been serving in the Photo Laboratory Technician School at Lowry Field, Colorado. That same day, the Air Air Forces awarded him with the citation of honor.

Funeral services were held at his home near Plano, Illinois, on September 13, 1945.
