Biography
Little information is known about Gerald Wachal, Jr., who studied Chemical Engineering at Iowa State College sometime before 1945.
His file contains only the following note, written by his mother, along with her pledge for Memorial Union, dated November 11, 1947:
"Gerald never got back from this war for which I am very sorry to say. [sic] Was in the air corps and was Flight Officer and Navigator, was over two months when he was missing and so too have no news as to his final resting place.
His mother, Mrs. Ella Wachal."
