Private First Class Steve Norman Aszalos was born on June 19, 1925 to Steve Aszalos and Irma Yhranik in Cleveland, Ohio. He had a brother-in-law named William L. Biko.
He enlisted at Fort Hayes in Columbus, Ohio and was transferred to Camp Hood, Texas. He took three months of Army Student Training Program.
Steve died in Germany on April 16, 1945. He was posthumously awarded the Purple Heart in June, 1945
