Biography

Private Ralph Hull Kirk was from Dunlap, Iowa. He had three siblings: Ruby M. Kirk, Florence Kirk Notson and Mildred Kirk Hart.

Ralph graduated from Iowa State College in 1916 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering 

He enlisted December 10, 1917 in Chicago, Illinois and was assigned to the Ordnance Department for the 32nd and 29th divisions. He sailed for France sometimes in March 1918. He saw action during the Chateau Therry and Argonne offensives.

Ralph died from pulmonary tuberculosis on March 1, 1919 while serving with the army of occupation in Coblenz, Germany.
