The Memorial Union is happy to welcome Bradley Hill to Iowa State University. Hill will begin his new role as Associate Director of Operations for the Memorial Union staff starting Monday, July 8.
Hill will report to Memorial Union Director Steve Winfrey and administer all MU facilities and event operations, and will help the MU meet its mission to complete the college experience by developing leadership, community, and career-readiness.
“The Memorial Union is excited to welcome our newest family member,” Winfrey said. “Brad will not only bring a little southern charm to the MU, but he has a host of experiences that will help us take the MU into the future of higher education.”
Hill has worked at Mississippi State University since 2011, first as the Coordinator for Night and Weekend Operations and then as the Assistant Director for Student Activities. He has experience in both building operations and student involvement, as well as managing staff and implementing facility strategic plans. Prior to working at Mississippi State, Hill was the Assistant Director for Event Services at Furman University Center.
“I couldn’t be more excited to join the Memorial Union and Iowa State University family,” Hill said. “Throughout my college experience, the union played a pivotal role in my development as an individual and professional, and I will strive to provide a welcoming and thoughtful environment where the students of Iowa State can feel that impact through their interactions with other community members in the MU.”
Hill is looking forward to helping the MU honor the past while providing opportunities to advance the students of tomorrow because the history, traditions and people of Iowa State are what make it such a special place. In particular, he is excited for the renovation of floors 4, 5, and 6 so that the MU can continue to be a gathering place for students and campus conversations.
In his spare time, Hill enjoys spending time with his family, friends, and his dog, Chloe, who loves walks, naps, and the occasional tug-of-war rope fight. He also loves to travel and learn about British and American history.
Hill is a double graduate of Mississippi State University, receiving his Bachelors of Science in Political Science in 2007 and his Masters of Education in 2009. He is currently finishing his pursuit of a Doctor of Philosophy in Higher Education Leadership.
